Structure And Plan Your Day

Keeping a journal and writing to-do lists can help you to keep track of your time and give you a sense of achievement and accomplishment at the end of every day, as well as giving additional motivation.

Practise Meditation Or Mindfulness

Start by doing just 5 minutes a day, to relax and reduce stress, improve mood and boost your focus and memory. Free apps like Headspace and Calm are a great place to start.

Read A Book

Reading a good old-fashioned book is an amazing way of unplugging from the fast-paced and often overwhelming nature of technology. Start with a page each night. Reading not your thing? Listen to a podcast instead.

Cut Down Your Screen Time

Endlessly consuming social media or news on your phones (’doomscrolling’) can create tension and stress. Give yourself some rules to minimise how much time you spend staring at screens in your free time. For example, switch them off after 9pm in the evenings, and delete apps that you find addictive for a couple of days.

Try A New Hobby

Resist the temptation to spend all your free time in front of Netflix (as easy and tempting as that is right now!)…Dedicate some time each week to learning a new hobby, such as learning a dance routine, playing an instrument, or start getting the vegetable patch in your garden ready for spring…
