With almost 11.5 years at Gravitas - his entire recruitment career - James Morey has grown into a key leader within our Technology division. He specialises in permanent Tech recruitment across Product Management, Product Design, Mobile Development, and JavaScript Development.
Over the years, James and his specialist teams have supported businesses in building high-performing tech functions from the ground up for fast-growing start-ups, while also acting as long-term partners to established organisations scaling their engineering and product capabilities across the UK.
James thrives in recruitment because of its pace, challenge, and constant evolution: “My key driver when working with candidates and clients is providing a best-in-class service – a quality service to be proud of. That service can include building out new teams within companies or general advice on the market. I always want people walking away feeling like we have helped them in whatever way possible. I love being able to support beyond the initial hiring requirement, providing my insights on the market and becoming an expert people turn to when they have a staffing challenge to overcome. Going that extra mile is vital to helping people build lasting teams.”
During his time at Gravitas, James has worked across multiple desks, becoming the top global biller within the Client Solutions division and successfully managing a top rookie. He currently manages the top permanent biller globally at Gravitas and continues to shape high-performing teams. Beyond day-to-day delivery, he is passionate about community-building, co-creating Gravitas’ Women & Allies in Tech networking events alongside Louise Smith, as well as hosting events for the HR and Talent community.
Outside the office, James is currently working on improving his tennis game and has a background in playing ultimate frisbee.
