Simon Ackland joined Gravitas as a Business Manager to expand our Wealth Management offering in London, building on the success of our established Banking teams in Hong Kong and Singapore. With 15 years of recruitment experience - 10 of which were spent living and working in Singapore - Simon brings deep sector knowledge and a global perspective to the UK market as he returns to London to be closer to family.
Simon’s career spans search firms, in-house recruitment for a global British bank, and strategic team buildouts. His experience includes leading senior hires, coordinating team moves, and placing high-impact support staff across the wealth management ecosystem. During his time in Singapore, his strong understanding of the private banking market enabled him to scale specialist teams, contributing to increased AUM and revenue during a key period of organisational growth.
Before moving into recruitment, Simon spent five years in retail banking with a globally recognised bank, completing a management training programme. This early exposure sparked his long-standing passion for partnering with experienced banking and investment professionals.

Simon specialises in Wealth Management recruitment across private banking, investment advisory, the CIO office, trust and fiduciary services, credit, and a range of support functions including KYC, paraplanning, assistant relationship managers and business planning roles. He is dedicated to building long-term, successful relationships with both clients and candidates, grounded in transparency and industry insight.
Outside of work, Simon is married, a proud dog dad to his goldendoodle Charlie, and a fan of football and boxing.
