The Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced Business Manager to take ownership of an established Housing Management Systems contract desk within our Manchester office.
This is a genuine leadership opportunity — ideal for someone who brings strong market knowledge across Housing IT / HMS platforms, enjoys developing others, and is excited to scale a high-performing vertical within a specialist market.
What You’ll Do
- Lead from the front with business development, client meetings, and networking across the Housing and Public Sector technology space.
- Manage, mentor, and develop consultants from trainee through to senior level.
- Build and expand key client relationships across Housing Associations, Local Authorities, and HMS vendors/partners.
- Recruit, train, and onboard new consultants, creating a high-performance, delivery-focused culture.
- Grow the Housing Management Systems desk, covering platforms such as NEC, Northgate, Civica, MRI, Orchard, Aareon and similar ecosystems.
- Champion Gravitas’ core values in leadership, delivery, and team culture.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 3 years’ 360 recruitment experience, ideally within Technology, Public Sector, or Housing IT.
- Demonstrable experience recruiting within Housing Management Systems or aligned markets (e.g., HMS platforms, Housing IT transformation, Public Sector systems).
- Strong track record in business development and client relationship management.
- Experience managing and developing consultants at different levels.
- A hands-on leadership style with a passion for coaching, mentoring, and scaling teams.
- Ambition to progress into Gravitas’ Global Future Leaders programme.
