Learning & Development Business Partner

Shape Careers. Influence Leaders. Drive Capability Across an International Business.

Gravitas Group is looking for a Learning & Development Business Partner to join our Manchester team in a role with genuine strategic influence, international exposure, and long-term career growth.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to move beyond delivering training and become a true business partner—working closely with leaders, influencing performance, and helping shape the future capability of a growing international organisation.

If you're motivated by seeing the direct impact of your work across multiple regions, teams, and leadership levels, this role offers the platform to do exactly that.

About Gravitas

Founded in 2010, Gravitas Group has grown from three founders into an international, award-winning recruitment business with over 200 employees across London, Manchester, Leeds, Frankfurt, Rotterdam, Hong Kong, China, and Singapore.

Specialising in Technology and Insurance recruitment, our success has been built on our core values of Respect, Integrity, Passion, and Excellence.

Our Learning & Development function has played a critical role in that growth and is recognised externally as one of the strongest development programmes in the recruitment industry.

The Opportunity

As a Learning & Development Business Partner, you'll work at the heart of the business, partnering with leaders across the UK, Europe, and Asia to drive performance through people development.

Rather than simply delivering training, you'll act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, identifying capability gaps, shaping development solutions, and helping create a high-performance culture that supports both individual and business success.

This is an opportunity to influence how learning is designed, delivered, and embedded across an international organisation.

You'll have the autonomy to bring ideas forward, challenge thinking, and contribute to the ongoing evolution of our award-winning L&D strategy.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Partnering with leaders and managers to identify capability needs and development priorities.
  • Designing and delivering impactful learning experiences across consultant, management, and leadership populations.
  • Supporting talent development initiatives across multiple international offices.
  • Facilitating workshops, inductions, coaching sessions, and leadership development programmes.
  • Working closely with stakeholders to align learning initiatives to commercial objectives and business performance.
  • Using data, feedback, and performance metrics to identify opportunities for learning interventions.
  • Supporting career pathways and succession planning through targeted development programmes.
  • Driving engagement with learning and embedding development into day-to-day workflows.
  • Contributing to the future direction of Gravitas' global Learning & Development strategy.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who combines strong facilitation skills with commercial awareness and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Essential Experience

  • Previous experience within recruitment is strongly preferred.
  • Experience delivering training, coaching, learning programmes, or capability initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills.
  • Ability to build credibility quickly with both consultants and leadership teams.
  • Commercial mindset with a clear understanding of how learning drives business performance.
  • Confidence facilitating both in-person and virtual learning sessions.
  • Ability to adapt communication style for different levels of seniority and experience.

You'll Stand Out If You Have

  • Experience supporting sales-focused or recruitment businesses.
  • Coaching qualifications or accreditation.
  • Experience working across multiple locations, regions, or international teams.
  • Exposure to leadership development or management capability programmes.
  • Interest in leveraging technology, systems, and data to enhance learning effectiveness.
  • Experience within Technology, Financial Services, or Insurance recruitment.

Why This Role Is Different

International Impact

Your work won't be limited to a single office or team. You'll help influence capability and performance across multiple countries, working with leaders and employees throughout our global business.

Strategic Partnership

This is a genuine business partnering position where you'll have a seat at the table, helping leaders solve business challenges through development, coaching, and capability building.

Opportunity to Shape the Future

As our Learning & Development function continues to evolve, you'll have the opportunity to contribute ideas, influence strategy, and leave a lasting mark on how we develop talent globally.

Award-Winning Environment

Join a business that genuinely invests in learning and development and has been recognised twice with the prestigious Princess Royal Training Award.

What You'll Receive

  • Competitive salary and bonus
  • Award-winning Learning & Development environment
  • Clear progression opportunities within a growing international organisation
  • Prestigious penthouse office at 2 St Peter's Square, Manchester
  • Flexible working options depending on experience and seniority
  • Increasing annual leave with length of service
  • Strong wellbeing focus, including extended lunch breaks
  • Work-cation opportunities
  • Incentives including company holidays, spa days, and lunch clubs
  • Sabbatical scheme
  • Company pension
  • International mobility opportunities across our global offices
  • Regular social and networking events
